How to enable/reset iSync

BusySync requires iSync to be enabled in order to sync with iCal. If syncing is disabled or not working, you can reset it by doing the following:

  • Launch /Applications/iSync
  • Select Preferences from the iSync menu
  • Select the checkbox "Enable syncing on this computer", if it is disabled.
  • Click the Reset Sync History button. Wait a few minutes while it resets.
  • Close iSync Preferences
  • Quit iSync

Conflict Resolver

After resetting sync history, Apple Sync Services will merge all of the events in iCal with all of the events in BusySync and alert you to any potential conflicts it discovers. These conflicts are usually caused by slight differences in the way events are stored in iCal and BusySync. If the Conflict Resolver prompts you to clear conflicts between iCal and BusySync, select BusySync to clear the conflicts.

MobileMe

If you're syncing with MobileMe, you may need to re-enable your MobileMe sync settings in System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync. Optionally, you may want to overwrite the calendar info on MobileMe with the contents of iCal on your desktop. To do so, click Advanced > Reset Sync Data > and click the right arrow to replace the info on MobileMe with the info from this computer.
